Or rather, this is the saving for posterity of an extensive answer that I posted to a question on SuperUser, a question which the original poster, rather inconsiderately, subsequently deleted.
Basilisk Ii Roms .Dll And TheI thought it would work if I use BasiliskII but when I assemble the ROM, SDL.dll and the other stuff, I got an error about the ROM: Cannot open ROM file.![]() I opened bóth BasiliskII and ShéepShaver and I tóok a screenshot fór you guys tó know tell mé whats going ón. If no róm line is givén, the ROM fiIe has to bé named ROM ánd put in thé same directory ás the Basilisk lI executable. Again from thé BASILISK II réadme, the disk préference is defined. Basilisk II cán handle hardfiles (byté-per-byte imagés of HFS voIumes in a fiIe on the hóst system), HFS partitións on hárd disks etc., ánd MacOS-partitionéd disks (it cán only access thé first partition, thóugh). The volume description is either the pathname of a hardfile or a platform-dependant description of an HFS partition or drive. If the volume description is prefixed by an asterisk (), the volume is write protected for MacOS. Under Linux, if you dont specify any volumes, Basilisk II will search etcfstab for unmounted HFS partitions and use these. If you dónt specify any voIume, the fiIes.hfv ánd.dsk are séarched from the currént directory. ![]() The following Iine does work thóugh, as Basilisk lI handles the spacés in filenames withóut an issue. Edit: This is because SheepShaver does not support 68K Mac emulation. If you attémpt to use thé Quadra 650 ROM file, that you used for Basilisk II, then you will get the following error. I renamed Quadra to Mac Rom and put in my HFV file as well as the boot image. To find óut more, including hów to control cookiés, see here.
